This software release includes

improvements in copying contacts from your SIM card. To get this software through your device, type in *#0000# on the home screen or go to Device Manager. Select Options > Check for updates and follow the on screen prompts. Additionally this software release is available through the [Nokia Software Updater].

The N85 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.

Remember you can update using the N85’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your N85 on your windows PC.
